Name

Originally, the picturesque pond had no name. When the Pfennig and Erdmann families purchased the property with the idyllic body of water, it quickly became clear that this future park should have a suitable name. The decision for a name came in a surprisingly relaxed manner: a person who slept particularly well and for a long time due to the quiet location and the relaxation it brought, initially named the pond "Sleeping Pond".

But "sleeping pond" did not seem to be the ideal official name for this beautiful place. So the search began for a more sonorous name that would still retain the original meaning. Since the word "sleeping" is often also referred to as "slumbering" or, even shorter, "lummern," it quickly became clear that the name "Lummer Lake" was perfect. This is how the current name was born, which captures the calming effect of this place and sounds inviting at the same time.
