Leisure time

Lummer Lake offers numerous opportunities for leisure and recreation. Whether you want to relax and enjoy the silence, swim in the lake or take a boat tour, there is something for everyone.

The surrounding area offers pure nature: hiking, mountain biking and exploring the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge Nature Park. A highlight is a visit to the WISENT-WELT-WITTGENSTEIN, an internationally recognized species protection project in which wild bison can be observed in the Rothaargebirge.

Another worthwhile destination is the Ginsburg, a historic building with an impressive view over the Siegerland. The Ginsburg, whose history dates back to the 13th century, is located near Lützel in the border area between Siegerland and Wittgenstein. It became particularly famous during the Dutch War of Independence, when William of Orange gathered his army here to liberate the Netherlands.

The Ginsburgschänke is located directly at the destination on the “Rothaarsteig” hiking trail. In summer there is a very nice garden and outdoor area.
